From this day forward may we always remember.....

The people of the United States are the rightful masters of both Congress and the Courts, not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.
Abraham Lincoln

I remember well the words from the Star Spangled Banner. At the end of each working day while serving in the US military and later while a member of the Colorado National Guard we stopped whatever we were doing to stand, salute, and sing along to the national anthem I don't think I appreciated then nearly as much as I do today the words that ring forth from this priceless hymn. Words of truth, bravery, integrity, patriotism, honor, respect, selflessness, and devotion all come to mind. The list of attributes goes on and on. But today, what it means to me, is FREEDOM. And I want to thank ALL of those men and women who have given their time, dedication and lives to this great country! Happy Fourth!

My favorite verse:
O thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
between their loved home, and the war's desolation,
blessed with vict'ry and peace, may the Heav'n rescured land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
