Is your cup running empty?

He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater;
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase.
To added affliction he addeth His mercy;
To multiply trials, His multiplied peace.

When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources,
Our Father's full giving is only begun.

His love has no limit; His grace has no measure.
His pow'r has no boundary known unto men.
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus,
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.! Annie Johnson Flint

Do you sometimes get weighed down with the many cares of the day? I know I do. Time keeps moving and children keep growing. I need to be at my best for my family and overwhelming myself with "things" takes from that and adds stress to my life. Stress gets in my way and then I'm not able to focus on the things that are most important. When those weighty moments come visiting I know for sure at least these two things are needful.

1. Obviously, I have bitten off more than I can chew and it is now time to cut back and simplify.
2. The most important, ponder and pray. Turn to the Lord and He will be my strength.

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasures in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."~ 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

same here, there are days that I feel I can't move, or do anything more then I already am doing, but things gets done, but they are easier when my focus is on Him rather then myself

Thanks for the lift Tricia. Lately, things have been tough. Not sure if it's the winter being so long or what it is. But everything is just so blah.

I like the half full cup!!! I have found over the years when it's looking half empty it's because I'm doing things my way. Often times in a hurried manner. When I slow down seek HIM and HIS will the cup within know time starts to look half full once again. I'm so thankful for His love, grace, and mercy! Good post and great reminder to me!

When I read the title of your post my immediate answer was a resounding YES!! Thank you for this encouragement. Being pregnant at 44 and facing the challenges of raising teens in this world (boy I do wish we could run off and raise our kids in the country - seems easier somehow :0)!!) plus the daily work of potty training and homeschooling etc the others sometimes seems overwhelming!! God does renew my strength though and I am ever blessed to be carryng a new little one!!!

Blessings,
Christine

Tricia,

I thnk that most married women can relate to the words stated in this post. I've been feeling the same way lately, and that means that I need to focus more upon my Lord so He can direct me on how to organize my time properly.

Thank you for posting this.

Mmm...I'm printing out this poem for myself tonight. We've had way too much to do the last few weeks - and now I'm sick with a bad cold (9 of the 11 of us are), feeling run down, discouraged, not my joyful self to say the least. *sigh* I'll pray for renewed strength for tomorrow...I know the Lord has already gone before me. I don't know many people I share this with because, like you said in one of your other posts, how can I answer without overwhelming a mother of just a few? And how could she be encouraged with my current feelings? But with a mom of even more than me, I feel I can really relax. Especially with another who seems so like-minded. *hugs*
