Baby Vance's detailed heart diagram & more photos

I've had many questions in regard to exactly "what" did baby Vance's heart need. I am sure my explanation would be completely muddled so I have posted a few diagrams to explain. The first diagram is 'how a heart should look' and the second is the before and after surgery photos of baby Vance's heart. If you look closely you can see the differences in what a heart should look like, what his looked like before surgery, and what it looks like now.

This photo details the work done for Vance in order to have his heart look and function like the one above.

I would love to put a plug in for the Ronald Mcdonald houses. This is where everyone is staying while the baby is in the hospital. My husband was completely amazed at how they work. Here is just one example of the things they provide for the little ones to do. Gemma is having a great time while getting a pony ride. Definitely an organization to keep up and running. I am told that they are great blessings to those who need it!!

I love these pictures of my son and husband holding Gemma. She seems so content!

Vance getting a bath the night before surgery. Sure wish I could have been there. I feel like I missed so much!

We are praying for your entire family.
I can speak from experience that the Ronald McDonald House is amazing. I don't know what we would have done when our oldest daughter spent 25 days in the hospital in Augusta, GA. Nine of those days was in ICU, so we couldn't stay in the room with her.

How amazing that these surgeons can fix these things!!! Of course we know God is the one guiding those hands of their's - He is so awesome!!! I've heard wonderful things about the Ronald McDonald house - such a great oganization!!! How long will baby Vance have to stay in the hospital and how is he doing with the pain? Continuing to pray for your whole family!!

Blessings,
Christine

Thanks for sharing. I second the plug for the Ronald McDonald House charities. They were truly a blessing from above for several hospital stays with very sick children. We were well taken care of and had a family environment, clean sleeping quarters, and affordable.

Ronald McDonald House is such a blessing. They provide so much more than a bed. We stayed at the Fort Worth location in 2005 while our son was in the NICU.

Aw, I am glad that they had Ronald McDonald House. Our local homeschool group supports them with different things. They are a blessing.

I can't imagine seeing my baby like that, even knowing he had to have it, how hard it would be. Praying for strength!

The Ronald McDonald House really is amazing. Gemma loved being with the horses again. I am sure that she misses her pony! The horse rides were at the UMC for the children that are there and she was invited to join them. What a great staff they have.
