Chronological Events of Baby Vance (Truly a miracle)

I have to admit that when I jumped over to Heather's blog and saw these pictures I had to cry. And so did grandpa. (not as much as I) I am pretty much going to copy word for word what Heather has written. All I can say and feel right now is WOW, our FATHER is so GOOD. We are so thankful to see just in 13 days the amazing work our Father in Heaven did with this guy. Here is his first 13 days of life and my oh my has he been blessed. The Lord has brought him through so much. (I realize that truth more and more as I learn of things I wasn't aware of at the time)

Vance really wasn't doing too well. His poor heart was working too hard and he had fluid on his lungs was making it hard to breath. Not much could be done with his heart since doctors still thought it was just a VSD and double outlet. (This will be taken care of soon) But nurses would come and pat his back to help break up the fluid. They also used a CPAP on his nose to blow puffs of air into his lungs. He wasn't eating either as he would just throw it up. They put a small tube down his throat for any fluid to have a place to go so he wouldn't choke.

Heather holding him right before his surgery and right after she was released from another hospital.

Noticed that his feet all the way up to his knees were looking blue so the cardiologist too another look at his heart and found another defect. He called it Hypoplastic aortic arch which his aortic arch was starting to narrow and close. The doctor noticed that his pulmonary artery was too large. That evening an ambulance came and transferred him to UMC for surgery.

The surgeon made a horizontal incision under Vance's left arm for the first surgery.

Going home!!!

Wow! You'd mentioned that this little guy was super sick, but somehow the pictures make the reality of HOW sick he was so much more... real. So glad he's doing better now!

It really was wonderful to watch Heavenly Father's hand in the life of this little boy and to witness the promises being fulfilled that were given him by his father and grandfather Winsor as they administered to him. When he came into this world he did struggle somewhat with his breathing but I know that angels were there attending to him as the doctors and nurses took care of him. Father was incharge the whole time and there was no doubt of the outcome for this special littl guy. Our family will forever be greatful to our Father and those that took care of him.
