I love being home. In fact, I am home pretty much ALL the time! And I'm not complaining. I complain if I have to leave!! I hit our local library a couple times a week and church on Sunday. Usually about once or twice a month I will make a major grocery shopping trip but hubby normally stops after work for anything I may need since he works in the city. I think living in a small country town is a plus in keeping me home. Plus the business of home itself with many children is another reason. I find that when life pulls me away from home often, the kids get cranky, meals don't happen, and house cleaning doesn't get kept up. You know, I think that when "the kids ain't happy, ain't nobody happy." I know for my own children that keeping up a stable and consistent home routine really helps them in being happy and feeling secure.

Well said. You know, I am surprised at how much I have changed since I have become a mom and homemaker. I thought it would be dreadful and boring and that I would need to find so many "outside" and "interesting" things to do.
However, I have found my life at home to never have a dull moment. I have growing love for getting things done at home and for taking good care of my husband and children. It is simple, but so beautiful and fulfilling once I take the time to think about how important it really is.

It is always good to have those weeks where we are not dragged out of the house for many activities! i love being home, and I love my home being the drop in place for the older children and friends etc. I do enjoy to go visiting and for coffee with a friends ~ but they are rare treats. Nice quote on the high calling of motherhood.
Great post Tricia. I'm working on that. I tend to think that I need to attend every social event, sign my kids up for every class and so on. While at the same time I love being at home too.
