A Sad Day For a Boy and His Dog

We are home from our Colorado trip and I am excited to blog about it.  But my first blog entry back won't be on our trip but about our eldest son.  He is very sad today as he had to shoot one of his dogs.  We just spoke to him on the phone and he shared his story.  Seems Oakley was attacked by some wild dogs and injuring her pretty good.  Vance knew what had to be done. But 'knowing' something is right doesn't make it any easier.  I haven't seen him in this kind of sadness and pain for a long time.   Our family feels so bad for him.  Oakley is the black and gray dog in the picture.

Oh the poor guy!! I understand about having to put a dog down. We had to put one of our dogs down, it is truly disheartening. My prayers to you and your family!

We had one pass away of old age this week, a truly sad day.
Best Wishes.

Being a huge dog lover myself, my heart goes out to Vance...Very, very hard thing to do, having to put your dog down. We become so attached to our animals. My Dixie girl is our "little baby."

When Vance called me and told me what he did my heart just hurt for him especially since I'm not there to be with him. His dogs mean everything to him.
