Our Story Hour

She loves all the books from Before Five in a Row, Sonlight P3/4 and titles from the 1000 Best Books List. Pretty much everyone of these books can be found at your local library too. I print off the lists and then just go online to order them from the library.

I still have all my Sonlight books from when we homeschooled. We pull them out and read them all the time. My girls love for me to read to them. I really should make it a priority make the time to do it every day instead of when we can find time.

So refreshing in a day of low standards, too much technology and tv. My hearts cry is to get back to the roots of God, husband, family...and limit or say not to many other voices calling to me.

To sit and read is one of the most honorable and memorable things. It is a cuddly, sweet way to spend TIME together. Uplifting for all. I have been asking God to "fit" more of such in my days...and to do this, I must die to many habits I currently have. Facebook is one. Homeschool co-ops, and even Awanas had to also go. We don't have tv, so that's a blessing. Keep it up!

One of my favourite pass times with the children and one of my favourite memories with my mother!

I love to read to my 3 year old son and I've been doing it since he was a newborn. I wanted to establish the habit for both of us from the git-go! My husband & I also have 2 grown daughters (23 & 21) and he was the one who read to them every evening before bedtime. It's my turn with our son. :-)
It's a wonderful way to wind down the day and get children ready for sleep. My son & I also read before his nap. As you indicated in your blog ~ it's a great time to cuddle! And they grow up so fast. Heavy sigh!!
Thanks for your blog! You're always so encouraging.

OH I love to read to my 3 and 4 yo!! They love some of the same titles. Your shelf comment made me wonder if youd do a post on organizing the childrens school books. Im always looking for a solution. :)
